Sadie's Baby Shower

Yesterday, the three lovely ladies above hosted the sweetest shower for our already greatly loved Sadie Elizabeth.

Every where you looked, there was something pink and beautiful. They put so much work and time into making our day so special.  The food was delicious!

Just look how pretty.  The picture really does not do it justice.

My yummy strawberry owl themed cake.  John McRae had a piece last night and said it was the best flamingo cake, ever!

This is the sign in table with the cutest parting gifts.  Little cokes, cosmo brownies, and fun-dip.  These ladies know the way to my heart!

Gift, gifts, gifts.  Our girl is already so spoiled!

As you can see, it took both Charlotte and I to get that first piece cut.  You can see the cute owl in this picture.

My mother-in-law and I (aka the photographer for the day - Thanks!).

My best friend since the 6th grade.  Thanks Jennifer for being with me on this special day and recording the gifts!

Auntie Em checking out the goods from my mom.  Thanks Mama for the goodies and thanks to Emma for driving all the way from North Carolina!

Thank you to everyone who came and shared this special day with me.  It was a great day filled with family, friends, fun, laughter, and delicious food!  There are just no words to express how thankful I am to all that came or sent gifts.  My hostesses worked so hard to make the day perfect and I just love them to pieces!

XOXO,
Stacy & Sadie

Watch Me Grow

Pregnancy does a lot to your body.
Apparently, it even changes your hair color in the process. ;)

The first picture was taken at 15 weeks, the second at 19 weeks, the third at 25 weeks, and the latest (this morning) at 27 weeks.
On Friday, I will be 28 weeks and I can already tell that this third trimester might be a lot less fun than the second.  That's okay, though.  We are only about 12 weeks from meeting our baby girl at the most!

Pre-K Christmas Party

Daniel and I were so glad that we were able to attend John McRae's Christmas party at school.  It was so much fun to see first hand how much he enjoys it there.  He loves his teachers and his friends.  We also got to see his classroom and all of the projects they have been working on this school year.  Grandmaw also got to come and JMc really enjoyed having her there, too.

The cupcakes JMc and I made for his party.

Stocking for his teachers that JMc helped me make.

JMc helped fill his friends' treat bags, too.

Saying the blessing before snack time.

This is about as good as a family photo goes these days.

"The Blur" with his friends around their classroom Christmas tree.

Getting ready to open presents.

A happy kid with his new art kit (that he loves.)

Helping Daddy open the presents he made for us.

Everyone else is doing it, so I figured I would, too. ;)

1.) Get organized (& stay that way.)
2.) Get on a budget (and stick to it.)
3.) Eat healthier as a family and shed this baby weight the healthy way. I've got a husband and two kiddos to stick around and be healthy for.
4.) Incorporate some exercise into our family routine.
5.) Embrace the rest of my pregnancy and enjoy every minute of it (even if it isn't always the most enjoyable experience.)
6.) Prepare for a new baby without going overboard.
7.) Enjoy the next three months with an only child and make life-long memories with him and Daniel.
8.) Let things go and worry less.  Be content and not feel the need for a nicer home and more toys.  Enjoy what we have and be thankful that most of it is paid for.
9.) Find a church that we can all enjoy and feel comfortable in and get envolved as a family.
10.) Enjoy myself, my friends, and my family.
11.) Celebrate holidays BIG, but not with elaborate gifts, but by decorating and starting new family traditions.
12.) Continue to spread adoption awareness and do all I can to help bring children home to their forever families.
13.) Stay up late and watch movies with Daniel.

22 Week Pic

22 Weeks

Also, I couldn't resist this girly cuteness.

Baby Sister Update

Great appointment today - Praise the Lord!
The details:
My due date by ultrasound has changed at every appointment, but I'm 22 weeks today going by my very first ultrasound at 6 weeks.
Judging by today's ultrasound, the baby is measuring 22 weeks 6 days and weighs an estimated 1.3 pounds.
Heart rate was 156 when the doctor checked it, but 170 when the ultrasound tech checked it.  Baby Girl was bouncing around and exercising and would not be still - causing the increase in heart rate.
She was waving and extending one of her legs and foot straight out at one point.  I couldn't help but think of my 6'4 husband and carrying his tall daughter in my short body.  Maybe pictures are a bit decieving, but she was so much bigger this time than last time and really looked like a real baby.
Everything checked out good and seems to be progressing smoothly and on target.
I go back for my 26 week appointment on January 7th.
Oh, and she still has no name.  We must work on that because "new baby" just isn't going to cut it much longer.
And for the record, John McRae fully acknowledges that there is a baby sister in my belly, but he still wants her to be an elephant.  I can't believe by the time this baby is born, my sweet baby boy will be a four year old BIG boy.  It's amazing that one heart can hold so much love, but mine does and I'm so very, very thankful for these kiddos.

Thanks for the prayers, everyone.
XOXO,

Stacy
