Toddlers gone WILD!

John McRae's 3rd birthday party was this past Saturday.
He really, really, really enjoyed it!
He keeps telling me, "Thank you for my birthday party, Mama" which makes me happy from the inside out!
Knowing that he had such a good time and that we made such a special memory, made all of the planning so worth it.
We love the smile on his face and I'm thinking we are going to have to start celebrating half birthdays, too, but on a much smaller scale.
I'd heard for months that he wanted an animal birthday cake and it was pretty clear that he wanted a home maid one like his Daddy's. My sweet friend, Mrs. Celia, baked it and I decorated it.
The weather was BEAUTIFUL.
Everything was perfect, just like our sweet boy!
A big Thank You to everyone who came.
I really appreciate my Mama and In-laws helping me get all of the decorations put out.
Thank you to Daniel for taking John McRae to visit at my Daddy's so that we could do so!
You all made an almost three year old boy's day
(And his Mama & Daddy's, too)!
Here's a few pictures from the party.
Thank you to my Daddy for taking them. =)
This birthday boy loved his cake!

Soooo good! (He's not in pain.)

He couldn't eat it fast enough!

This kid amazes me!

Proud Mama and Daddy with the birthday boy.

He blew out the same candle three times because he wanted to do it "again!"

Love that smile!

After cleanup, we let the balloons go.
John McRae and Bentley let one go, too.

XOXO,
Stacy

Mother to Son

Well, son, I'll tell you:
Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
It's had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor—
Bare.
But all the time
I'se been a-climbin' on,
And reachin' landin's,
And turnin' corners,
And sometimes goin' in the dark
Where there ain't been no light.
So, boy, don't you turn back.
Don't you set down on the steps.
'Cause you finds it's kinder hard.
Don't you fall now—
For I'se still goin', honey,
I'se still climbin',
And life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
